Get to know Emirates

Emirates are owned by the government of Dubai, and are the national carrier of Dubai. They are, compared to others, a relatively new airline, and have been in operation since 1985. They have since grown to become the largest airline in the United Arab Emirates, and the fourth-largest (in terms of passenger miles flown) in the world. Emirates currently fly to over 150 cities in over 80 countries worldwide.

Their hub is located in Dubai airport, and is now the third busiest airport in the world. It has served the airline since 2008, and features a variety of amenities, including lounges, dining anf high-end shopping. The Emirates fleet currently numbers over 250 aircraft, all of which are wide-body, and includes Airbus A320 and A380's, as well as Boeing 777 and 787's. Emirates are currently the largest operator worldwide of the Airbus A380, as well as the Boeing 777.

Currently, Emirates are not involved with any airline alliances; however they have strong partnerships across the globe with over 25 airlines, including Qantas and Jetstar. The airline supplies its own award-winning catering onboard their flights, and their 'ICE' entertainment system is recognised as one of the best in the world, with the screens in economy being the largest of any commercial airline.

Emirates are recognised worldwide for their high quality aircraft as well as high levels of service, and have won the Skytrax 'World's Best Airline' award four times, as well as the 'World’s Leading Cabin Crew' at the World Travel Awards.

Where do Emirates fly from?

Emirates currently depart New Zealand from Auckland and Christchurch. Passengers can fly direct to Sydney from New Zealand, otherwise all other flights will transit via Dubai.

The Emirates network is extensive, so passengers can visit Europe, Asia, North and South America, the Middle East, Africa and the Pacific.

Making the most of Emirates Sale Deals

Emirates don't run set weekly or monthly sales like some airlines; however, they do feature a variety of sales throughout the year! Some recurring ones include Boxing Day (December 26th), Black Friday (after Thanksgiving), and others.

They may also feature flash sales, Earlybird sales (for fares booked several months in advance), companion sales (for two or more passengers in one booking) and destination-specific sales, with discounted fares to the U.S, Europe, Asia and more.

There is a 'featured fares' page on their website for any sales that are happening, or you can sign up to their emails to be notified of any future deals. Or just sign up with us, and we will let you know about any great deals!

You can check in for your Emirates flight either online, via the Emirates app, or in person at the airport.
