I Know The Pilot — MCP Connector

Connect AI assistants like Claude to I Know The Pilot and search for curated cheap flight deals from Australia using natural language.

What is this?

The I Know The Pilot MCP connector lets AI assistants search our curated flight deals on your behalf. When you ask your AI assistant something like "find me cheap flights to Bali," it can query our deals database and return current offers with links to the full deal on our website.

Unlike flight search engines that show live inventory for specific dates, I Know The Pilot publishes exceptional fares — deals that are unusually cheap compared to normal prices. This connector gives AI assistants access to those curated deals.

How to connect

Claude.ai (Web)

1. Go to Settings → Connectors
2. Click Add custom connector
3. Enter the URL: https://iknowthepilot.com.au/mcp
4. Click Add

No authentication is required. The connector is read-only and does not modify any data.

Other MCP clients

Point any MCP-compatible client to https://iknowthepilot.com.au/mcp using the Streamable HTTP transport.

Search Flight Deals

search_deals — Find currently active deals matching your criteria.

• destination (optional) — Airport code, city name, or country name. Examples: "DPS", "Bali", "Japan"
• max_price (optional) — Maximum price in AUD
• limit (optional) — Number of results, 1-20 (default 5)

Example queries: "Find me cheap flights to Bali", "Any deals to Europe under $800?"

List Top Deals From Airport

list_top_deals_from — See the cheapest deals departing from a specific Australian airport.

• origin (required) — Australian airport code: MEL, SYD, BNE, ADL, OOL, DRW, PER, HBA, CBR, TSV, CNS
• limit (optional) — Number of results, 1-20 (default 5)

Example queries: "What's cheap from Melbourne right now?", "Show me the best deals from Sydney"

Get Deal Details

get_deal — Get full details for a specific deal including flight routes and airlines.

• deal_id (required) — The deal ID (returned by the search tools above)

Your AI assistant will typically call this automatically when you ask for more detail about a specific deal.

What you get back

Each deal includes a title, summary, price in AUD, expiry date, and a link to the full deal page on iknowthepilot.com.au. Full deal details also include the flight routes (origin and destination airports) and airline codes.

The connector returns deal summaries only. To see the full deal with booking links, click through to our website.

Cheapest Flights (non-deals)

In addition to the deal search, this MCP is able to show cheapest flights to any destination based on user searches. The following endpoints are available for this.

Get Cheapest Flight Dates

get_cheapest_flight_dates — For a known origin and destination, the cheapest cached fare for each departure date in a window. Fares come from I Want That Flight (our flight search site), in AUD — indicative cached prices, not live availability.

• origin (required) — 3-letter IATA airport code, e.g. 'SYD'
• destination (required) — Airport code, city or country, e.g. 'Bali'
• depart_date_from / depart_date_to (required) — Departure window (YYYY-MM-DD)
• round_trip — Default true; false for one-way fares
• cabin_class — economy (default), premium_economy, business, first

Find Cheapest Flights To A Destination

find_cheapest_flights_to — When the origin is unknown, compares the cheapest cached fare to a destination from every origin airport we have data for. Same parameters as above, minus origin.

Coverage

The connector currently covers Australian deals only (prices in AUD). Supported departure airports include all major Australian cities: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Darwin, Perth, Hobart, Canberra, Townsville, and Cairns.

• All tools are read-only — the connector only reads deal data, it never modifies anything

Data and privacy

The MCP connector does not collect, store, or log any personal data from your requests. Queries are processed in real-time against our deals database and no request data is retained. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how I Know The Pilot handles data.
