All about Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand has been connecting Kiwi's across the country since 1940, and were originally called 'Tasman Empire Airways'. Since 1965 they have been operating under the 'Air New Zealand' name that we know and love today. As the official, flag-carrying airline for New Zealand, the airline operates their major hub out of Auckland, with smaller secondary hubs in Christchurch and Wellington.

Flying to over 20 New Zealand cities, the airline also offers regular flights across the Tasman to Australia, and are extremely important in connecting to the Pacific Islands, with regular flights to Samoa, Tonga, the Cook Islands and more. Further afield, the airline flies direct to the U.S, South America and Asia, and to Europe, Africa and the Middle East utilising their airline partners.

Air New Zealand's fleet currently numbers 114, with another 11 aircraft on order, and includes Boeing 777 and 787's, as well as Airbus A320's. Some of their long-haul aircraft feature the amazing 'skycouch', where passengers are able to convert their seats to a flat bed in Economy. There are a range of flexible fares available, allowing passengers to tailor their ticket to their own specific needs.

They are the recipients of many awards every year, including Tripadvisors 'Best Economy Class in the South Pacific' in 2019 and 'Australasia's Best Airline' at the World Travel Awards in 2018. They are also well known for their often hilarious ads and safety videos, featuring a range of both local and international celebrities.
